Dive into the world of Queer semiotics in fashion, in the FA-SCHÖN documentary! 🧶👠 In this project, the objective for the Queer Needlework Circle was to make their own power suits; a suit that would catapult you into your personal power, be that gender euphoria or a celebration of your sexual and identity politics. So we’ve looked at a lot of queer semiotics; symbols and styles that signify the queer lifestyle. 🌈✨🏳️‍⚧️ From hanky codes to red ribbons, from monocle eye glasses to green carnations, all of us got to thinking on what symbols we all use in our lives. For some folks in our group that may mean they’ve made entire outfits, whereas others have learned how to alter existing clothes by means of upcycling. ✂️
